    Black Maple Hill Bourbon

    95 proof; no age listed

Aroma: Very sweet. Corn, vanilla, caramel, green apple, light cinnamon, maybe a hint of maple syrup.

Taste: Whoa! Much spicier on the palate than the nose would indicate. Coats the edges of the tongue with flavors of oak, toffee, pecan. Softer on the front, but produces a pretty good burn on the way down.

Verdict: A good bourbon in the mid-price range. It would mix well in a cocktail and would probably pair well neat with a dessert course using fruit and nuts.
